As a counselor, I believe my role is to help others tap into their own innate and powerful ability to heal. I support my clients in cultivating awareness around the connection between their bodies and minds in order to deepen their understanding of how they relate to themselves and others. A focus on building strengths empowers my clients to make lasting changes and work towards personal goals. Counseling provides a unique opportunity for self-reflection and learning how to cope with the many stresses of living in order to lead fuller and more meaningful life.
I have specialized training in working with trauma including sexual abuse and assault, obtained through professional training and many years experience working at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center as an Advocate, Trauma Therapist and Manager of Clinical Services. I am passionate about supporting survivors of sexual trauma and believe healing is possible.
Other reasons one may seek out counseling is to address feelings of depression or anxiety, to seek support for life transitions and adjustments, address alcohol or drug related difficulties, improve self esteem and self worth or address grief or loss. I am LGTBQIA and gender identity affirming. I can offer support in establishing meaningful relationships of all kinds in family, interpersonal, monogamous and polyamorous relationships.
